Dinner and a Movie 1

Hello my lovely followers. I decided that one series I would love to do for this blog will be a dinner and a movie series. This series will be a movie review to a movie that I have recently watched along with a recipes that I have tried. I hope you all love the idea as much as I do, especially because today I am posting my first one!

The Recipe: Copycat Panera Mac and Cheese!

Panera Copycat

The Ingredients you will need:

Mac'n'Cheese Ingredients

  • All Purpose Flour
  • Heavy Cream
  • Dijon Mustard
  • American Cheese
  • Kosher Salt
  • Vermont Cheddar Cheese
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Hot Sauce
  • Noodles
  • Optional: Milk

Here is the blog link to the recipe itself!

This recipe was delicious! Although we ended up adding in a splash of skim milk, along with the heavy cream added, into the cheese sauce before mixing in the noodles I found it to be scrumptious. This recipe fed four hungry college girls and still gave us a big tupperware of leftovers. It tasted like Panera’s recipe and it made for a fun evening of cooking and laughter! We paired this entree with a side salad and small french baguettes (bought in a pack at Walmart) to scoop up the cheese and noodles with. Recipe tip: 4oz of cheese turns out to be about six slices.

The Movie: If I Stay

if_i_stay

If I Stay: If I stay is a story about the a high school-aged girl who gets into a horrific car accident with her family, and finds herself deciding whether she wants to stay alive or give up on life. This movie was extremely emotional and had me on the edge of my seat as we watched events that led up to the crash as told through the young girl’s eyes. It took you through the stages of a relationship and through the twists and turns of life leading up to the decide that she has to make. Although at first it seems as though there would be an easy answer the movie makes you question whether you would do the same choice she made. There were many tears shed and comfort foods consumed after watching this heart wrenching storyline fall into play. Overall, I throughly enjoyed this movie and it was a great flick to see with your girlfriends, especially if it’s rainy and everyone needs a good cry.
